JioHotstar has acquired
the exclusive digital rights for the forthcoming series between England and India. that the leading sports broadcasting network in the country has finalized a digital agreement with Sony Entertainment Network, also known as Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited. The prestigious five-Test series between England and India, which begins on June 20 in Leeds, will now be accessible on JioHotstar.

Discussions between the networks have been ongoing for the past month, and it is reported that a deal has been concluded within the last 24 hours. Sony has agreed to sub-license the digital streaming of the matches while retaining the linear broadcasting rights, which will continue to be aired on the Sony Sports network. No immediate comment has been received from either Sony or Jio Star at the time of this report, but it is expected that an announcement will be made later in the day. The remaining four Tests will take place in England, with matches scheduled in Birmingham (starting July 2), Lord's (beginning July 10), Manchester (July 23), and concluding at the Oval on July 31. It is believed that the existing agreement between Sony and Jio Star will carry over to next year’s white ball series. India is set to play three One Day Internationals and five Twenty20 Internationals in England during the summer of 2026, which JioStar will also broadcast. Last year, Sony secured the broadcasting rights for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in an eight-year contract that extends until 2031, granting it exclusive rights to all England cricket properties in India. Within the current arrangement involving Jio, Star, and Sony, the ECB is understood to have played a significant role in facilitating this agreement.
